ABOUT DAKSH
The Development of Applied Knowledge and Skills for Human Development in Maharashtra (DAKSH) project is a significant initiative aimed at enhancing the employability and entrepreneurial skills of the youth in Maharashtra. The project focuses on improving the quality and market relevance of skill development programs in Maharashtra.
The DAKSH program aims to:
- Enhance the employability of youth and adults in Maharashtra.
- Improve quality and relevance of skills training in ITIs and VTIs.
- Specifically targets creating opportunities for vulnerable groups: Women, SCs, STs, PwD

Furthermore, the four result areas have been broken down into six Disbursement Linked Indicators (DLIs), which act as specific, measurable milestones to ensure the program stays on track and achieves its intended outcomes. DLI-2 focuses on enhancing apprenticeships and improving ITI performance through the strengthening of DVET.
DAKSH aims to enhance quality of ITIs by re-envisioning the concept of ITIs and subsequently operationalizing the same in 12 select modelsit is.
